Hockey or no hockey, life does go on for these players and their families. Life demands what it will demand, such as a child who has autism and needs consistency of care. Life demands an income, and if the inevitable arrives - when hockey stops - there is a greater sense of urgency to meet that demand. Life is full of personality, and life is full of understated emotion. While the players themselves may be the center of the hockey universe for fans, they are simply characters in the lively drama that accompany them.
{I am a sports fanatic} We Blackhawks fans had to wait 39 years, before our guys could hoist Lord Stanley high above the ice (2010). I was living in Dubai, and it was an Australian friend who said, "Hey Ronnie, congratulations on your Stanley Cup!" "It was a boyhood thrill," I smiled at Lance. ~Ron Villejo | For the Love of Hockey (November 12th 2012)
