In the 2014 NHL playoffs, the Chicago Blackhawks cracked goalie Ryan Miller, and handed the St. Louis Blues another first round exit. The Blues had even won the first two games, before succumbing to a losing tsunami. Later in the playoffs, Dustin Brown and the Los Angeles Kings faced the Blackhawks. It was their year, as they won three Game 7s on the road, including one in Chicago for the Western Conference championship, before winning the Stanley in an "easy" five-game series. Nicole Brown mentioned that Dustin was going for a third Cup, but the Kings didn't even make the 2015 playoffs. This year is the Blackhawks year.
I enjoy seeing the behind the scenes in the lives of these and other hockey players. Like the rest of us, they are only human after all. Their wives, girlfriends, and children have everyday worries: from getting a job, to doing homework, to cooking dinner. For a purely spectator's standpoint, their lives are defined by what they do on the ice and what they say to reporters. But Hockey Wives rounds out that definition very nicely, at times poignantly.
